Do you still have a land line phone? As in a phone through a phone company using an actual phone connected to a phone line.

I haven't had a land line for a long time. We currently have basic talk phone service, which runs through an internet connection. It's only like $15 a month.

Yes. I do. I use a Cordless Instrument with it to enable portability within the home.

My parents had one back in the early to late 2000's. I even had one for 2 years once I moved out on my own. But after cell phones being an upcoming sensation. I didn't see the use in having a home phone and that it was just another bill for me to pay so I quit having one.

Mine did too. I still rememher when we got our first wireless landline phone. The thing made us feel like we suddenly jumped into the future.

I think what ultimately pushed me into not keeping a landline was after I got married, my ex wife had debt collectors calling the line all day. She had college loans, so they were wanting her to pay up with "money" we did not have. My in-laws gave them my phone number and that's when the calls started. They eventually got paid off over the years with tax refunds. But that's also a reason why I never went to college either and a reason why I quit having a landline.

No we got rid of our landline and moved to cell phones only in my household. I think a lot of people are doing that now. A lot less people keep house phones these days. Guess that's what the future might be like. Not sure if it will become more popular later. Even skype is more popular then landlines I think these days.

Call me old school. but I still prefer to use landline over mobile. I have landline at my office desk as well as my home. I will use mobile only when I am away from landline.

Ugh I could only imagine how annoying and stressful that had to be...

No, not anymore. I don't see the point in having one when my phone contract offers unlimited calls & texts to UK Standard Rate Numbers. I'd much rather pay for my mobile as it's with me everywhere I go!
