Classic anime's worth watching

What are some classic anime shows worth watching? I already watched DBZ and a few others. I'm mainly looking to try older anime shows, as I'd like to start with the old stuff and get to the newer stuff later.

Claymore is really good. It came out in 2007. But it being 2020, I'd say it's classic material. It's pretty gory if that's your thing

It got a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Should be worth your time.

I’m not into anime but remember Fist of the North Star as being bad ass! My lil bro used to watch Cowboy Bebop...that’s anime right?

Oh Cowboy Beebop hell yeah! I also would suggest the gundam series if you lik3 mech fighting.

You can give Samurai X, Gintama. Both are good.

Oh Yeah Samurai X was excellent. There's also Big-O which looked like a pretty cool show.

Akira! The first anime movie and watched and still, in my humble opinion, the best.

OH YES! Akira is awesome! A really funny one I watched in the 2000's was the show Chromartie High. It's not as well known but it is REALLY funny.
