Do any of you's remember dealing with AOL (America Online) back in the day when we had to deal with dial up internet? I remember. I do not miss it one big lol. Having to hear the dial tone starting the internet, not being able to use the phone while online, and just general slow load times. It is something I hope to never deal with again.

It was cool for the time, but I'm glad the internet has changed for the better. Thank you broadband internet. :D
 
Yes! I remember getting the cds for free aol internet trials and the crappy dual up internet where it took an hour to load up an image! Haha!
 
mmm, changed for the better, nah, it changed for the worst, lol. and aohell was the starting ringleader of the current internet bs we face these days.

it should've remained decentralized, just computers dialing other computers is how things should've remained. mightve been slow, but atleast it was good. the internet was supposed to be totally open and free, your only bill would be your phone bill cause it used the old pots system
 
yea, lol. i plan to get away from that, lookin at a good tp link router thats openwrt compatible, and hopefully has enough memory to run cjdns with it too. and i can buy a set of four wifi yagis, lol
 
Oh routers either, sorry. I only know internet culture. Its funny I took an IT course and forgot everything lol.
 
Oh yeah, AOL. I remember that. I used to collect the CDs they'd send every so often, and use them to make coasters lol.

I liked it though. It was fresh and new during that time and I remember being mesmerized by being able to surf the web.
