Yahoo was top dog! Most would be using Yahoo. Another two strong boys were Altavista & Lycos. Altavista was pretty strong even after launch of BigG for some 5 years.

It's still there. It was taken over by Yahoo long back. it's search is now powered by yahoo.

Ask Jeeves, Aol, and Yahoo come to mind. I don't remember when I first used Google, and I don't remember any other search engines.

Yahoo. Besides my AOL email that came with my subscription, I made a Yahoo email as well.

Back when yahoo had a hosting and even domain service. Thwy used to charge like 10 bucks a month!

Yahoo was like one stop solution for your cyber needs. For many Yahoo was internet! Just like today, for many internet is google.
