I remember when I first got satellite television, I thought it was super cool and I remember feeling rich. I was like 10 or so when we first got satellite, and then we dropped that for cable tv years later.

I just remember the amount of channels we had. We had the highest tier at the time, and we had every channel. Sucked when we went to the basic plan a while later lol.

I had it in reverse. I started with cable and then to Satellite. I also opted for top tier plan with almost all the channels.

Nowadays though I employ online streaming for most my needs and have no active Satellite/Cable connection.

Yeah, I started with cable, then went to satellite for a while, but eventually came back to cable. We didn't like the plan we were on when subbed to satellite, so we cancelled and went back to cable. Which was just easier to deal with.

This was my first cable box remote control...it was attached to the cable box. We could not afford the premium channels like HBO and Cinemax...and I both my parents worked full time jobs...anyways, I was so fucking excited when we got cable!! I wanted us to get the rich people cable that came like this....

But a few years went by before we could afford the Premium cable box and by then, this is the model that was out...

I still had to wait to become an adult before I had cable with HBO and Showtime and Cinemax and Playboy.
We never got satellite TV as a kid cause that was just a "dream" to us. Funny thing is one time i was at a friends house and we were watching football on his Direct TV and weather got bad and he lost signal for 2 hours....that was enough for me to say, I WILL NEVER GET SATELLITE TV unless i have cable in the house too. Of course now satellite tv is more reliable as we have it at work but occasionally, we do lose signal here at work.
