How do you remember the 90s and early 2000s pet dogs? Whether you were a pet lover or not, you must have interacted with the robotics pets at one point. Does the name Poo-Chi ring a bell in your mind? I know this will instantly ring a bell for Millennials. Generation Z has more sophisticated sony Aibo and the likes. For us, the millennial, we grew up in the era of Tekno the Robotic Puppy and such kind of robopets. This was not the coolest or smooth transition kind of pets. But they were more authentic. Back then, the AI had not advanced to the level that we are seeing today, but it was enough for our amazement and fun back in the days. I remember begging my parents to buy me one for months on end. At that time, I think the Tekno the...
How often do you sit back and just let your mind reconnect with the good old day? Whether it is a TV show, a movie, a retro video game, a toy, or just fashion of back then. For a while now, I have been treating myself with any nostalgic memory, with a daily dose of nostalgic gadget. It is quite therapeutic I must. And I enjoy every bit of it. Today, I just stopped by, for another retro toy review that I loved. Not so long back in time. And it is Tekno the Robotic Puppy, you might as well call him Tekno the Robotic Dog! Whichever slides better in your mouth. We used to call him a dog because it was easier to remember. Yesterday, while walking the dog downtown, I bumped into this kid. Guess what, he was playing with Tekno! For a moment...
Image: Den of Geek What hits your mind when you remember Garfield? Do you, like me, get hit with the nostalgia of the lazy kittie? Well, depending on which generation you were born, you may have watched a different version of the Garfield show. It may look dopey to the adults now, but it was undeniably the best show back then when we were just kids! Though lazy, Garfield still remains the longest lasagna-addicted kittie actor on television. Since its original release in the later 70s, there have been many adaptations of the Garfield that have made it remain relevant and to be on air for many decades. Some of the most notable adaptations of the Garfield include: 1. Garfield Comic Book (1977 – 1978) 2. Garfield and Friends (1988 –...
What do you remember about Oh Yeah! Cartoons, besides the unforgettable name. The ‘90s was a very creative time for the cartoon industry. Right from the big production houses to the upcoming cartoon network. Top of the league was Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. These two were head-to-head releasing shows back-to-back. It was at the time that the movie industry in general was rapidly developing. Technology at the time was at its peak and the production houses and movie creators were taking advantage of this to improve the quality of their shows. It was around this time that 3D aminations were being tried. It was still rough on the edges, but it was still amazing to see some 3d versions of some classic shows of the 70s and 80s. Oh...
Image coutesy: Geeksalert. Have you ever wondered why BattleBots is still popular today? Almost two decades down the line since its introduction, BattleBots has since remained one of the most popular robot combat TV series. It has even overridden its parent show The Robot Wars. For over 21 years now, BattleBots has been active and running despite the challenges along the way. I remember can in early 2000 when I just got introduced to watching the show by a friend. We were hooked to it so much. Especially when Robot Wars took a long hiatus. Today we will take a nostalgic trip back in time to the good old days of BattleBots. Just when the ‘90s era was slowly disappearing and technological development was rapid in all sectors including...
Is retro gaming dying out? By Alexander from make money forum. Computer games will continue to exist, which is excellent news for both the business and the players. Players may need some adapt to the death of the console game, however the fascination of old platforms and actual game possession will endure. Only explanation I believe gameplay movies are dwindling is due to the growing expense of game development. Retail online gaming have rarely ever less inexpensive, and have been for quite some time, when adjusted for inflation. I believe that movie-based video games will continue to exist, but they will not be as common as they once were. Spite of the increasing revenues of pc and Console titles on smart phones, the appeal of...
Last week I was doing a real-life home improvement in my apartment. And it did hit me that there was this 90s show called Home Improvement that really packed a punch back then. Yes, I loved the show, but now I wish it was showing now. Since I have a real home that needs improvement! I was hit by the nostalgia of the good old days watching the show that I had to do a quick search online for any streaming service for the show. But to my surprise, there is no major platform streaming the show now. This is not fair! Considering how Home Improvement was extremely popular in its prime. I still think it is still popular among those who lived the good old days. This would be a perfect fit for Disney+ and its long list of classic ABC sitcoms...
Why are people returning to the oldies in gaming? If you'd been in the 1980s and 1990s, you will recognize the debut of home playing, if you were snuggling with Tetris on a Gameboy, tumbling about as Sonic on a Sega, or even just trying to avoid the noisy beeping noises coming from another bedroom. While enthusiasts had their preferences - the push of Fighting Game, soaring levels of Super Mario, or the simplicity of Pacman - pcs had found their way into our living rooms, and adults and children everywhere were captivated. As businesses throughout the world vie to capture a piece of the gaming pie, the demand for consoles has started to climb throughout the decades. However, over two decades into the new century, dedicated gamers are...
Photo: us today Even with the pandemic rummaging the world, Chuck E. Cheese Pizzeria & Games family entertainment restaurants have stood the taste of time. But just like all other enterprises and economic entities, the franchise has also suffered the wrath of the pandemic and the soring debts, and near bankruptcy situations. If you were born and raised in the late 80s, through the 90s to the early 2000s, you are likely to have been to a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant or attended a Chuck E. Cheese party. Some of my favorite childhood memories include gambling tokens away at the age of five for cheap toys and plastic rings in the rat mascot’s palace. Those were the days when going to Chuck E. Cheese meant the whole world to me. I vividly...
Do you remember Zoboomafoo? I just can't get myself to forget the name! It was one of the best shows I watched back then. Let's take a nostalgic trip back in time to the days when Zoboomafoo was the talk of the school. Zoboomafoo was a 65 episodes kid's television show that was initially aired on PBS from January 25, 1999, to June 7, 2001. The show was created by the Kratt Brothers, it featured a speaking lemur called Zoboomafoo, performed by Ottawa-born puppeteer Gord Robertson, and mostly portrayed by a lemur named Jovian, along with a group of recurring guests of animals. Each episode began in the “Animal Junction”, a special habitation with distinctive rules of nature where animals come for enjoyment. The puppets for this series...
Photo Courtesy:Fandom Do you remember the good old days of Jetix? Yes, it is now a decade since the show was closed, but I still have memories of the show. Earlier today, I bumped into this 150 Seconds of Jetix Nostalgia on YouTube. This video is awesome because it’s like watching an entirely different generation’s nostalgia documentary while simultaneously being the nostalgia of my generation. Still, a part of it I never experienced. And honestly, I had goosebumps watching the entire 150 seconds of the video. It gave me a strong nostalgic feeling that I could not avoid but write about the Jetix show. I understand; we all have mixed feelings about Jetix since some of us were pissed because it replaced the Toon Disney show. Sure, I...
The Nintendo DS is now at an exciting stage in its life cycle as there are a lot of excellent deals to be had in its library, but some of the secret treasures and rarities are beginning to be revealed and competitively priced. Although some of the pricing in these titles might be disappointing, if experience is any indication, a few of the more rare games may only skyrocket in cost now from. On the bottom end of the continuum, you may find that some of the highest-ranking rarities have comparatively low prices. These lists are for games that can only be played on a cartridge. Though some of these games are still difficult to come by as bare cartridges, full versions command a higher price. While the Nintendo DS cases are far more sturdy...
Photo Courtesy: Comedy Flavors Why is Friends still famous? Well, let us take a trip back in time to the days of Friends, the mid- '90s T.V. sitcom show that we all loved. It is now over a year since we started taking the ride back in time and review the good old days of the 90s through to the 2000s and sometimes going way back to the 70s and 80s. We cannot fail to appreciate the huge contribution of the Friends T.V. sitcom that started showing in 1994. This was one of my favorite shows back in the days. When I was home sick from school, I used to watch either Friends or The Odd Couple. Friends were the coolest show at the time for me. Friends, the American T.V. sitcom that changed the face of television forever, ran for 236 episodes...
Game Boy Full Review – Super Mario Land By Alexander My sibling and I will use our Game Boy to get through the long summer holidays. Although we liked the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong, it wasn't a typical retro title. We quickly found this real goldmine, and I've been playing and recommending this game ever since! In terms of plot, Mario is on a mission to rescue a girl – but not just any queen. Daisy made her first appearance! You ride with Mario through several diverse lands in pursuit of Daisy, who has been kidnapped by an evil warlock known as Tatanga. Though the plot is light (as is typical of the series), it does not distract from the gameplay. It is a traditional Kart racer with a few variations in terms of plot. You...
Photo Courtesy: Decider The television show Dinosaur that was aired between 1991 and 1994 is, for lack of better words, is one of my all-time favorite satirical, sardonic, yet most entertaining shows ever recorded in the history of comedy. The continuous flow of events coupled with the most elementary imaginations that any artistic work can accomplish allows the audience to follow an apparent reality resulting in contemporaneous struggles of reality against illusions. However, through the storyline and within the complexity created by its characterization, I strongly feel that the producers have succeeded to bring out a greater degree of realism throughout the show. The cinematographic significance of the show Although the history...
Photo Courtesy: bbc.co.uk It is yet another pleasant Friday, the last day of the month of April. A fine time to take a trip back in time again to the later ‘90s to mid-2000s when Jeremy Clarkson had his ‘90s hairdo! Well, it was the 90s, what do you expect?! Did you know that Jeremy Clarkson was the host of the show: Robot Wars back in the 90s. No wonder we naturally loved it back then. From his success in the Top Gear TV show, it goes without saying that he would be the best host for Robot Wars. It was fun watching robots fight their engines off in a ring with deadly weapons attached. It was more or less like watching wrestling, only that this time the characters were robots instead. The robots came in different shapes and sizes...
Few video gaming brands have left as strong a reputation and as enduring a place in the gaming underworld as Mario and his likeable supporting characters. Today, we'll look back at a pivotal decade in the Mario franchise's history, the 1990s, and rank the greatest game published during that period. Let's get started. Super Mario RPG (1996) This is a one-of-a-kind game. For instance, it's being made by the most potent teams in the Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars gaming nation: Square Enix and Nintendo.. The masterminds behind Final Fantasy have developed a massive RPG set in the Mario world, and it's everything you'd anticipate from such a fantastic concept. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (1995) Super Mario World 2...
